Betting Terms Guide
Betting and Casino Glossary
Understand key terms before you start betting. This knowledge helps you make better decisions in every game.
Asian Handicap
An odds-balancing system in football betting where the weaker team is given a goal advantage. This reduces the choice to two outcomes and eliminates the draw result in most situations.
Over/Under (Totals)
A bet on the total number of goals, points or scores in a match. You do not need to know who wins — just predict whether the total will exceed or fall below the set number.
Odds Format
Odds can be displayed in decimal (1.85), fractional (17/20), or American (+/-) format. Decimal format is the most popular in Malaysia and Southeast Asia because it makes calculating potential payouts straightforward.
RTP (Return to Player)
The long-term return percentage a game pays back to players across all bets placed. RTP is calculated over millions of rounds and does not guarantee returns within a short playing session.
House Edge
The mathematical advantage the casino holds in every game. This means that over the long run, the house always has better odds — which is why managing your playing balance matters.
Wagering Requirement
The number of times you need to wager the bonus amount before bonus winnings can be withdrawn. For example, a RM100 bonus with a 20x requirement means you need to wager RM2,000 before the funds can be withdrawn.
Live Dealer Casino
Casino games broadcast live via video with real human dealers. Players interact through a digital interface, but the table, cards, and dice are real — bringing the feel of a physical casino online.
Slot Volatility
A measure of how often and how much a slot game pays out. High-volatility slots win less frequently but offer larger prizes when they do. Low volatility pays out more often but in smaller amounts.
Progressive Jackpot
A jackpot that keeps growing each time a player places a bet on the game, until someone wins it. A small portion of every bet is added to a shared jackpot pool.
Cashback
A rebate on losses returned to players as a percentage of money lost over a set period. At kis819, cashback is calculated weekly and the rate increases with your VIP tier.
Mix Parlay
A combination of several sports betting selections on a single ticket. All selections must win for you to receive a payout — but the multiplied odds can make the payout much larger compared to a single-match bet.
Baccarat
A classic casino card game where players bet on whether the Player hand, Banker hand, or a Tie will come closest to a value of 9. It is one of the most popular table games among Asian players.
Jackpot & Big Wins
Types of Jackpots at kis819
A range of jackpot types is available — from progressive slots to high-prize fishing games.
Progressive Slot Jackpots
A small portion of every slot bet is pooled into a prize fund that keeps growing. The jackpot is triggered randomly or through special symbols — the accumulated value can reach very high levels before it is won.
Fishing Game Jackpots
Online shooting fish games include a special jackpot mode where players compete to shoot high-value special targets. The more active players there are, the faster the prize pool grows.
Live Casino Side Jackpots
Certain live casino tables offer jackpot-themed side bets. Players add a small bet outside the regular round for a chance to win a large prize based on card or symbol combinations that appear.
Arcade Game Jackpots
Interactive arcade games with hidden jackpots triggered randomly during play. Every round gives an equal chance of hitting the jackpot regardless of previous bet sizes.
Facts vs Myths
Common Player Beliefs vs Reality
Many players make decisions based on inaccurate assumptions. Here are some myths worth understanding.
A slot that hasn't paid out in a long time is "due" for a win
FactEvery slot spin is an independent random event using a Random Number Generator (RNG). The outcome of previous spins has no effect on the next spin whatsoever.
After losing many times in a row, a big win is bound to come
FactThis is known as the gambler's fallacy. The house edge remains fixed on every round regardless of past results. Probability does not "build up" from round to round.
There is a guaranteed winning system for baccarat
FactNo betting system can change the casino's mathematical advantage over the long run. Strategies like Martingale only manage short-term risk, not guarantee wins.
Depositing more increases your win rate
FactDeposit size does not affect the RTP or probability of any game. A game's return rate is fixed and independent of how much money you put into your account.
Playing faster increases your chances of winning
FactPlaying speed only increases the number of rounds — and therefore exposes more money to the house edge in less time. Playing slower generally means your budget lasts longer.
A casino can "adjust" slots to make them harder to win
FactGames from licensed developers use RTP settings verified by independent regulatory bodies. A licensed casino cannot change game settings arbitrarily.
